Friday Night Lights is a television series about a small town in Texas and the football culture that pervades every aspect of life there. It’s adapted from a non-fiction book by H.G. Bissinger. The show uses its small-town backdrop to address many issues facing Americans today including school funding, racism, drugs, abortion, and lack of economic opportunities. “Coach Taylor” Is a guy named Eric Taylor who coaches the football team of Dillon, TX with a lot of heart and guts. He’s a dad, a coach, a husband, and something of a hero to many in his town – a fallible hero, but a role model nonetheless. For Father’s Day, let’s take a look at what a superb coach would tell us about living our values and living a good life.
