Pulpit Guest: Rev. Elizabeth Harding
Sunday, August 1, 2010: ONE SERVICE ONLY—9:15 a.m
Theological language is a challenge for some Unitarian Universalists. What does it mean to use theological language? What are the dirty words that challenge us in our quest for developing our own spiritual paths? A list of theological words we find challenging will be provided in the insert for your ongoing thoughts. How do we separate our feelings from the past we associate with these words and the future we want for ourselves? These and other questions are a part of this Sunday's experience. Please join us for worship as we ponder "the Dirty Words."
The Reverend Elizabeth A. Harding grew up in Chicago, at the Second Unitarian Church. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2005, graduated from Meadville Lombard Theological School in 2006, and was ordained in 2007. This summer, she finished a half-time consulting ministry at Prairie Circle Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Grayslake, Illinois. Elizabeth is a Cubs fan and is sure that the Cubs exist in order to educate us about suffering!
