Children’s Chapel:
Young people in grades 4K through six will begin in the lower level Gathering
Area for a children’s worship led by Maria O’Connor before going to their
classes.
Story Time – Nursery - Preschool (Rainbow Room)
“Summer Is…” We’ll
talk about seasons and what makes them special. We will illustrate a mural with
pictures of seasons and take a nature walk looking for signs of summer.
Celebrating Me and My World – Preschool (Yellow
Room)
“I Can Celebrate.” We are celebrating the end of a great
year together. We will read The Teddy’s
Bears’ Picnic, sing songs, blow bubbles, prepare a teddy bear treat, and
have a party remembering the things we’ve learned.
Celebrating the World I Share – 4K / Kindergarten (Orange Room)
“Caring About Myself.” For today final lesson, we learn that
respect for the inherent worth and dignity of every person begins with
self-respect. Learning what we want and need, and how to take care of
ourselves, is our first important work. We’ll read stories, sing songs, and
make pictures of our hands and feet.
Treasure Hunting – Senior Kindergarten (Blue Room)
“The Joy of Learning
Together.” Unitarian Universalists treasure the joy of learning and growing
together. Today we’ll review all the things we’ve treasured over this year and
how they relate to the UU Principles. We’ll make rainbow chalices and play a
“What Do You Treasure” game.
Hide & Seek with God – First and Second Grade (Green Room)
“Our Stories About God.” In today’s final lesson we express
our own ideas about God. We’ll celebrate our friendships and a year of learning
together. We’ll remember some of the different stories about God we have heard
through the year, and create our own Hide and Seek with God booklets.
Stories of World Religions – Third and Fourth Grade (White Room)
“For
Every Child.” Unitarian Universalists believe that we can make a difference.
Our year culminates with celebrating the United Nations Rights of the Child,
reviewing the UU belief statements we’ve learned all year, and making Pinwheels
for Peace.
Growing
Character and Values – Fifth and Sixth Grade (Red
Room)
“Gratitude and Celebration.” Life is full of moments worth
celebrating. We can grow in gratitude and appreciation for the “little moments”
of blessing that occur throughout our daily lives. We humbly and joyfully
express gratitude and give thanks for all our many blessings, and for our place
in the cosmic creation.
Neighboring Faiths – Second Service Grades 7 - 8 (Junior Youth Room)
We are attending the
worship service "The Spirituality of Music." Today we will explore
the mystery and wonder of the role of music in spirituality.
Young Religious Unitarian
Universalists (YRUU) – Second Service Grades 9 - 12 (Senior Youth Room)
