THANKSGIVING TAIZÉ SINGERS

Our November WoW (Worship on Wednesday) will be on the theme of Thanksgiving in the style of Taizé, an ecumenical chant practice established by the Taizé monastic order in France in the last century.  Taizé invokes a deep meditation through the repetition of simple musical chants.  The entire congregation sings the chants, but we are looking for a small choral group who can learn the chants ahead of time to facilitate ease of learning during the worship service.

  • Rehearsal: Tuesday, November 22 from 6pm to 7pm

  • Performance: Wednesday, November 26 at 7pm

WINTER SOLSTICE SINGERS

The December WoW (Worship on Wednesday) will be our annual joyous, raucous, awesome celebration of the Winter Solstice.  The Solstice Singers participate in this earth-based ritual service by singing simple rounds and songs and leading congregational singing.

SPECIAL MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES

Our worship services are frequently enhanced by musicians who seek a performance/service opportunity not affiliated with one of our other established musical groups. If you have any musical gilfts to share, or are interested in connecting with other musicians, please let us know so your voice can be heard!

CANVASS CABARET

The Canvass Cabaret is a major highlight of the church year.  This variety show performance is energetic and exciting, kicking off our annual fundraising efforts to the operating budget.  Expect to laugh, to be surprised, and to have a lot of fun.  Any interested acts can contact Ruben at any time to express their interest in participating.

MUSIC COMMITTEE

The Music Committee is a vital component in the success of UUCW's Music Program. The committee assists UUCW’s Director of Music in guiding the music program -- for example, with important events like the annual Choralfest, and with specialized tasks like recording and piano maintenance. The committee also helps with writing grant proposals, budget planning, special events, and community outreach. The Music Committee can help you find any level of volunteer opportunities, including volunteering for the Coffee House, UUCW Playhouse, and Kirtan. Meetings: first Thursday of the month, 5:45pm.
