Unitarian Universalist Church West

The mission of UUCW's Earth Ministry focus is to affirm and promote the "respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part." In partnership with our minister and staff, our team of active, committed volunteers does this by focusing on the theological, spiritual, and ethical aspects of human activities that affect the health and sustainability of the living earth.

Five Goals of Earth Ministry
   1. Promote awareness of societal issues for UUs
   2. Generate commitment for personal lifestyle changes
   3. Motivate UUs to community action on environmental issues
   4. Build a connection between spiritual practice and environmental  consciousness
   5. Build awareness of and rectify environmental injustices

UUCW is a Green Sanctuary Congregation                          

A “Green Sanctuary” is a congregation that lives out its commitment to the Earth by creating sustainable lifestyles for its members as individuals and as a faith community.  Green Sanctuary congregations are committed towards creating a religious community that has a fundamental, bottom-line, commitment to living in harmony with the Earth.

UU Church West received official recognition from the Unitarian Universalist Association as a Green Sanctuary in 2004.
