At UUCW, the arts are an important means of spiritual expression and community building. Music in worship provides beauty, and touches powerful emotions words cannot reach, inspiring us to spiritual depth. Music also provides opportunities for spiritual practice and for fellowship. Visual artwork surrounds us with images and ideas that help us connect with our values and beliefs.

Sanctuary Sculpture
Our Sanctuary wall sculpture, “The Kings” by Jordi Bonet is a wonderful example of visual art as a vehicle to express our faith and spirituality. Learn more more about this work of art, and others at UUCW.

Art enriches our lives and allows us to communicate in a universal way elevating our appreciation and understanding of what it is to be human.  In future months, we hope to bring a great diversity of art into the church reinforcing our UUCW beliefs while bringing a little beauty and enlightenment. The art exhibitions will change 6-8 times per year.

The UUCW Community Room Art Gallery champions local and non-local emerging and established artists, and strives to build community through the visual arts. The gallery also provides a space for exhibiting artwork that grapples with issues of diversity, tolerance, and social justice, plus art that celebrates the planet and the interdependent web of all existence.

Our congregation enjoys these shows each Sunday after worship, and the gallery is open to the public whenever the church is. Here you will be able to purchase quality original art for your home or office. 15% of the proceeds from art sales will go to the church.

Volunteers wanting to help in the art gallery, or artists that wish to be considered for inclusion in an exhibit should contact Carol Christ Hoffmann, Art Gallery Coordinator.
